The Enemy Within

“And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.” Matthew 10:36

Many people are taught to watch out for the “outside” enemies, but many are not concerned by the ones inside or can’t identify them. It’s a fact that most people are likely to get hurt by those closest to them. There are many people who are simply unhinged for some time now. Many have feelings of resentment toward the government and leadership, and some may even want to act out this resentment. As the American government is preoccupied with political shenanigans and outside enemies, they clearly don’t see the inside ones.

So how do you watch out for the enemies within? Be alert and stay alert. Be mindful of people making “jokes”. Be mindful of people wishing bad things to happen to others, they are usually the ones who will eventually want to do something about it. Be mindful of those who seem radical and obsessed with certain topics, these are all red flags for someone who will act out. If you have children in school, provide an emergency plan for them and teach them to be alert as well. At this point, we all must learn or have some kind of defense. We have seen many shootings in schools, churches, supermarkets, and random places by all types of people, we simply do not know what will tick someone off, but we can stop being nonchalant about things.

With all this, please do not live in fear either. Fear will serve you no purpose. In fact, it is fear that causes many to lose it, they are just not wise enough to recognize their actions are based on fear they have created in their minds. It is unfortunate we live in a world where many people have lost their humanity and morals. Hurt people, hurt people, that is what is really going on. People who do not know how to communicate their feelings always lead to anger and we on the outside looking in, need to be mindful of this. As individuals, we can change this with the way we ourselves behave towards others.

If you see someone talking crazy, don’t make fun of them, instead, ask them what’s really going on. You never know you could be the person that changes them for the better. If someone is being hateful, don’t encourage it, laugh at it, or participate in it, because you are encouraging them to be a negative being in this world. Whether you are a believer or not, our goal in life is not to bring others to a low point, but to lift them higher to see a better way.

Remember hurt people, hurt people, it’s just someone crying out for something the world can’t give them.  Choose positivity, understanding, and love. Give someone a smile, a hug, an encouraging word when you can, you never know how that can change someone’s world.

“As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” ~ Proverbs 27:17

“Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.” ~1 Thessalonians 5:11
