We are all thankfully born with some intuition, that “hmmm” feeling, that feeling something is about to occur,” that “something is not right” feeling is what helps us to pause, and think about what is really going on and make a decision. If you actually listen to your intuition, you can save your life, and even those around you. Many people who been through terrible situations will often say, “if only I listened to my intuition that would not have happened.” I’m encouraging you today to listen to your God given gift because it can save your life and many heartache. Listening to your intuition can save you from dealing with people who are never meant to be dealt with, from making bad decisions, bad business deals, from allowing evil people to infiltrate your life, and many other things you can also avoid. There is so much wickedness roaming the earth. You going to need more than your eyesight to help you. I have learn to just rely on my intuition and let the Holy Spirit reveal to me what is going around me. I do this, by asking through prayer for God to reveal the invisible and to help me avoid any evil encounters, especially as I go out. I know only God has my best interest, Psalm 118:8-9.
Anyone can put on a façade but the Holy Spirit can see and reveal their true character to you, 2 Timothy 3:13-17. I have meant people and I’m like this person seems like a “nice” person and the Holy Spirit would tell me “no, no, no” so of course I choose the warning rather what I “see.” Just because you have a relationship with God doesn’t mean you will not encounter evil people or have bad friendships or relationships, the best way to avoid these people is to listen to your intuition, trust God, and listen to the prompts of the Holy Spirit. When you start to get that uneasy feeling, that “something is not right” or “ I just can’t put my finger to this” that’s your intuition kicking in, listen to it! I guarantee you may not see at the moment why the Holy Spirit warned you but further down the line, you’ll see why. People can hide from you but they cannot hide from God.
Moreover, with the all the criminal activities going on in this world, it’s imperative to listen to your intuition, when it tells you don’t go there, or wait a moment. When I was younger, I used to get upset about delays, years ago, God showed me, many delays are protection. Protection from an accident, protection from running into the wrong person. So embrace and don’t ignore the hunches, the delays, the hmmm moments that you have.
So how do you actually learn to listen to your intuition? Once you get the prompt or have that feeling, you pay closer attention, sometimes the person hasn’t done anything yet, or nothing has happened, but they are stirring up something and the Holy Spirit is giving you the heads up. Trust what the Holy Spirit is telling you and make a decision based on what the Holy Spirit has revealed to you. Whether that is for you not to enter a place, turn here not there, or to just say “no.”
Another way is to pray and ask God to reveal things to you. Some people are so good at being fake, it becomes a part of them and some glitter may look like gold. Praying to God will cause God to give you the spirit of discernment in your spiritual walk. If your goal is to spiritually grow, some of the things you are going to have to start exercising in your life are discernment, wisdom, listening to the Holy Spirit prompts, trusting God and listening to your intuition will help you get there. If there is something or someone you are not sure about, I advise you to pause and listen to your intuition. “Trust in Yahweh with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight,” Proverbs 3:5-6.
