Here we are again hearing stories of people not having something as simple as drinking water. September has been declared National Preparedness Month, this goes on every year, nothing new here, yet many continue to ignore when they are being told to prepare. Will some ever get tired of standing in line for water bottles and food? (Excluding people who may have lost everything in a disaster). People need to realize you can’t be so dependent on this system, you need to have some sort of backup. Which is a wiser decision, to stand in line for McDonalds and spend $12 on a meal or buy two cases of water bottles for less than $10? Water is a necessity for life, that is the most basic thing to have in your home for any reason, whether its weather related, economics or even to save money. There is nothing wrong with prepping, and having extras. Buy some cases of water and place in your house, buy extra food and place in your house. Filled some 5 gallons water and have to use for other hygiene needs. Have emergency supplies available in your home. I know some people will say, “but I don’t have the money”, but when you look at what they buy with the money they do have, it’s usually unnecessary things. Look into your spending habits, it is worth buying yet another handbag instead of a case of water, that you actually will use every day. Is buying the newest iPhone worth more than buying prepping items? Stop waiting for the day of an emergency to be running to look for help, or go to the store, learn to prep your home. Floods, hurricanes, crisis, are happening every day all over the world, so it’s not like those are surprise events. How is that an ant (insect) can have more wisdom than a human being? “ Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.” Proverbs 6:6-8
I know there are people in this world no matter how many signs they see, no matter how many woes they go through, simply won’t prep for anything. Every year will be the same for them, and perhaps one day when there is nothing to get, they will learn. One day the government, an organization, or even others, can’t help you. Prepping does not have to be complicated, just getting the basic supplies (extra water, food, flashlight, matches, etc), you will be ahead than most people. You simply can’t rely in this fail system. I pray that believers increase in knowledge and wisdom, may you always be a step ahead of what is going on in this world because you have God to guide you. May you make wise decisions in your everyday life, prep, pray and be well.
