Had enough? Are you getting mentally tired of the world’s mess? Or perhaps its something more personal for you, whatever it is know when it’s time to unplug. Just pull the plug of whatever is connecting you to craziness and unpeaceful situations. Unplug the phone, unplug the internet, unplug social media, unplug the news, unplug the television, unplug negative people, unplug negative situations. If you want peace, then you have to learn to create a world that is peaceful for you and the first step is knowing when to simply unplug from things.
Many people are afraid to unplug, because they think they are going to miss out on something, but you are not missing out on anything, in fact you will gain something, more peace, more love, more understanding, and more wisdom. The world wants to lay a heavy burden on many people’s mind, but only for those who remain plugged in. Once you unplug you will understand these burdens are not for you to carry, that is not why you are here on earth. You are here for a reason, stop letting everything else move you away from the purpose. The world can only offer you distractions after distractions, drama, craziness, burdens, emotional unwellness, when there is an entire other side offering joy, peace, freedom and love, but only if you learn to unplug. You know even the Messiah, had times he got away from the people so he can have alone time to pray, Mark 1:35; Luke 5:16. Sometimes you need a moment alone to get back to yourself. Perhaps you are pulled in many directions and feel overwhelmed, there is a solution but you have to want peace bad enough to unplug.
I want to challenge you to take one week and unplug from the news, social media, your phone, television, negative situations, unhealthy relationships, if you can, spend time in nature or around nature during the week that you choose. The first day will be the hardest but if you can fight through the temptation to “see what’s going on in the world,” you will realize the benefits of being unplug and freeing your mind. During that week, find something positive to do; read a book you have been meaning to read; help someone in need of help; spend time with a parent or a grandparent, ask them some questions about what they have learn about life, you will be surprise what you may learn; find something you always wanted to learn and learn it that week (examples: building a shelf, cooking, artwork, putting up a light fixture, etc.), and for some maybe that week will be more beneficial for you to stay in quietness and prayer, it’s all up to you. Draw Close to God!
“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
