Most people’s anguish, sadness, angry, hopelessness comes from placing everything else before God. Do you know why God wants to be first? So he can direct you. Most of us have no idea what we are doing, how to really live out this life. Most people are just living and taking whatever is dealt to them. They are not truly happy about anything; they have no joy, no love, no hope, no peace, just living day after day. They follow whatever and whoever. They don’t see what their purpose in life is. They don’t have true life fulfillment and when trouble comes they are easily shaken. God created this world, who best to be in communication with and stay close to but God. When you put God first, you are not looking for “people” and “idols” to make your life better, you know God will direct your steps and show you how to live and that he is your main source, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you, Matthew 6:33.”When you put God first, you are not a crowd follower because you understand God has called you to live a set-apart life, where the road is narrow but leads to life and few will find it, “Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect., Romans 12:2.”When you put God first, you are not participating, supporting, promoting the world and those who embrace the world in their wickedness because you understand you live in the world but you are not of the world, and God will judge it all, “We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one, 1 John 5:19.”When you put God first, you don’t have to live in fear and worry about this chaotic world, God already gave you the head up in the bible of what is to come, ”Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go,” Joshua 1:9.When you put God first, you already know God gave you all the tools to not be dragged into the hands of Satan, not to follow after wickedness, how to live righteously and pursue him, “ All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works, 2 Timothy 3:16-17.”When you put God first, God will guide you, and protect you. I want to encourage you to no longer think you can live in this world without God. The world will continue to have its own troubles, and since you have to live it in, why not let God show you how? The troubles of the world will steal your joy if you continue to focus on it. Draw Closer to God; seek after his heart, and his ways. Stop letting the world and people distract you with the craziness. Step away from the drama and focus on God. Some people may never change and we are already warned in the bible the world will get worse before it gets better, it’s already written, so why trouble your mind and soul with the drama? Turn to God, focus on him, Seek him while he may be found, “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon, Isaiah 55:67.”
