Money is a touchy subject for many and many times when you tell a person, they shouldn’t LOVE money they get offended and equate that with you not wanting them to be successful. To those types of false converts, I say, if you are a true believer of the Most High, then a scripture that clearly tells you not to LOVE money should not be an offense to you, “Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs,” 1 Timothy 6:9-10. The very paper money many are going crazy for, and selling their soul for will not exist in a few years. There will be no value of this printed-paper, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Mark 8:36. Money can’t save you like many think, money is just a piece of paper that someone told you have value and so you can work for it, slave over it, lose your soul for it. This piece of paper should be treated for what it is, it’s a piece of paper you exchange for goods and services, “Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, But righteousness delivers from death,” Proverbs 11:4.

Many are unknowingly serving the god of money and do this by their greed, their constant appetite for wealth and success, the constant desire for material things, the constant desire for more and more money, the constant need to prove their success leads to one thing, that they are worshipping and serving the god of money. Many who are serving and worshipping the god of money cannot sleep, they cannot think, they cannot function without thinking about money, how they going to get it, what they are going to spend it on. They have no peace, no rest because this god keeps their mind occupy in worshipping money. This my friends is spiritually dangerous. You will never be content nor satisfied, “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you,” Hebrews 13:5.

Some go further in selling their soul for fame and money and this is not just a worldly thing, there are many pastors, preachers, and their wives, who would never preach or teach certain subjects for fear of losing their “tithing” members. Many of them love money so much they become so greedy and insensitive to their own members plight and constantly taking from their members even when they know their members don’t have it. They will tell their members a blessing from God is coming but won’t bless the members with the same money they keep asking for when there is a need. The members look the same year after year, in the same situation, while they keep getting the “blessing.” They can’t even fully serve God because they are busy serving the god of money, Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (money).” There are believers who were in the walk with God and completely turned their back on him for fame and money, living a double life, one foot in the church, and one with the world, “and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful”, Mark 4:19. Some turning to do criminal activity to keep up with “appearances.” The god of money keeps them so busy worshipping and serving money they don’t have time to work on their relationship with God and truly submit to the things of God and spiritual things.

Believers wake up we got a lot of work to do within ourselves, God will not be please with you choosing money and success over him. God does not have an issue with blessings and increasing someone, but he will have a problem of you making these things your god, Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever”, 1 John 2:15-17.

Learn to be content, even if you are striving to do better for your life and your family. Be grateful and thankful for what you have now. Stop worshipping and serving money, a certain lifestyle, a certain level of success because each time you do you are showing to God these are the things that matter to you and not your relationship with him. God wants to be first, and you can’t serve both! “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you,” Matthew 6:33. You are also showing God you don’t trust him to bless you so you turn to god of money instead.

If you find yourself serving and worshipping the god of money, repent and ask God for forgiveness and turn to God and draw near to him. Choose today who you are going to serve! Time is ticking, “Now, therefore, fear Yahweh, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve Yahweh! And if it seems evil to you to serve Yahweh choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh,” Joshua 24:14-15.

As always my posts are only for those who truly desire a relationship with God and want to do what is right, those who don’t want to unknowingly serve other gods, be in idolatry, serving, and worshipping money but desire to serve and worship ONLY GOD.
