Setting Thine House In Order-Financial Health

I don’t really get involved in people’s finances because I think that is such a personal matter and what works for your household may not work for my household, so these are just only tips, and most of them you probably heard before. The direction the world is going it is obvious at some point we’ll be living in a cashless society. Some people think cash will always be King, well good luck with that thought because one day the King will lose his palace and cash will be worthless. Moreover, there is a potential where the grid may go down, where you won’t be able to withdraw any cash. Furthermore, the bubble at some point will burst, the U.S. Debt is more than it can ever pay back and yes, it may be easy to say, “Why don’t they just print more money”, but economics is not that simple. In any case, you must prepare to do something if and/or when something dramatic occurs.

The first thing you want to do is focus on preparing your emergency account, for now, you’ll still need cash to pay your bills and cash will still be used for a few more years (but don’t quote me on this, things can change quickly) so it’s okay to save money now, especially for emergencies. Try your best to have 3-6 months cash save up for only emergencies. However, once you start to observe the bigger signs of a cashless society are coming, more breakdown of the economy, the dollar is not going to help you at all, and you will have to find other options such as gold, silver, and commodities. Hopefully, you already got involved with these options, if not, now is a great time to do so, things are going to go up!

Secondly, get out of debt as much as you can. I know for many, mortgage debt, student loans, etc. is not easy to get out of and may take some time. However, credit card debt is unnecessary. Some may say “I only use credit for emergencies” but that is what your emergency account is for. You really don’t need them. Have you ever look at your statement, if you don’t pay the balance before the end of the billing statement the interest can be very high and that’s where they really make the money. Most people never look at their statement but just pay the minimum. The credit company knows most people will not pay the entire balance before the billing statement, so it can take you longer to pay off the debt. Moreover, when they see you pay the minimum with no late payment they would even start to increase your credit limit so you can create more debt. The credit company is not here to help you, they are here to make money, that’s it. That is why when you don’t use your credit card for months they closed them. Instead of grabbing your credit card, grab your debit card because every time you use your debit card you know it’s cash coming out of your own account and you won’t be so easily willing to spend. Stop making others rich at your expense! If you have trouble letting go of your credit cards, just add all the amounts you pay every month, for example: $20+$50+25+$45=$140 that’s how much money you are giving to these companies monthly, and investing in their wealth rather investing in yourself with smart investments. Think before you swipe!

Thirdly, learn to be more self-sufficient, whether you learn to make things yourself, such as soap, lotion, or even a cabinet. Learn to make things, and built things, yes even if you are a woman! Learn about gardening, food preservation, fixing things, there is so many information out there about these things, there’s really no excuse to say, “you don’t know how.” Many Youtubers have been a blessing in teaching people many skills. I have seen women in construction building homes, so being a “woman” is no excuse. The main reason many don’t make their own things is because it’s easier to buy it already made, but what if you don’t have access to these things, what are you going to do? You’ll either have to make your own or live without it. Moreover, when you make your own things you know what you are going to put in them. You are not going to put a bunch of chemicals in your soap, or food. A lot people are sick is because of all the chemicals that are allowed in our products and food.

Fourth, make smart investments. An investment should benefit you short term and long term. I’m tired of people saying they don’t have money or can’t invest but yet every year they change phones and spend $1000 on these phones. There are some places you can buy land for $1000 dollars! For some people it’s not phones, it’s clothes, sneakers, even wigs! Spending your money on worthless things, even if you can afford it, is a waste of time. I don’t ever want to be that person that has a closet full of bags, shoes, and clothes but can’t help myself or family when there is an economic collapse, be smart and wise with your money. I promise you during an economic collapse your bags will be so worthless you’ll wish you spent your more wisely. Invest in what is going to help you during troubled times. You don’t need a lot of money to start investing either, some companies will allow you to start investing as little as $25 dollars, even 1 oz of silver cost $28! (At the time of blog post) So there is no excuse not to do better, especially if you have income coming in.

Lastly, continue to prep even during good times. If you didn’t learn anything from what just occurred and still occurring with the world, the shutdowns, and the coronavirus, bless your heart! Prepare your home, store what you can, and purchase what you often use in bulk to be able to have for later if there should be a more dramatic/strict shutdown or an economic collapse. Ignore those who laugh, or get upset about you prepping; I pray these same people don’t have to beg for what they need. Some people are truly ignorant even believers, I heard one lady saying “God supplies all your needs” but completely forget that God told Joseph to prep & store for a seven-year famine! Prepping and storing was a way God used to supply all their needs! Beware of those pretending to be so “spiritual” but don’t even know or understand scripture. A lot of people don’t read the entire bible they just take a bit of part they like and form an opinion from it. Don’t let other people steer you wrong. Some people need to mind their business and be a concerned with their own household and stop watching and hating on what others are doing because “they don’t get it.” People’s ignorance is not your problem. Take care of your home how you feel you should and learn to live quietly in the land! Although these are things you may have heard before, it never hurts to hear it again, maybe the light bulb will turn on for you if it hasn’t. In any case, continue to set your house in order, trust God, and focus on him. Ask him to teach you how to set your house in order. Some people live in a fantasy world and will continue to do so, because the reality is too hard for them to live in. As believers God never called us to live in a fantasy, we must be alert, have a sober mind, for the devil is looking for whom he may devour, 1 Peter 5:8-9. Be encourage these are basic things you can do now to prepare for the future, you got this!

  1. […] Get out of as much debt as you can, especially credit card debt. When it comes to credit card debt always remember they are in business to make money, they are not here to help you. There’s not much to say about debt but decrease it and eliminate it as much as you can.  “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender,” Proverbs 22:7. 2. […] Get out of Debt-Save and Invest: I will just group these all in one. I know mortgages and student loan debts can take longer to come out of, so the debt I’m talking about is credit card debt, you really don’t need them. Think about it this way, every month you are making someone else rich instead of paying yourself. If you like to make payments every month, why not create automatic withdrawals from your checking account to a savings account instead of giving your money away to credit card companies. Credit card debts are truly the worst debt to have and for many an unending burden. All these credit companies have the power to ruin your credit report and it all take one missed payment, one over the limit purchase and they will be quick to report you and lower your score, why give anyone that much power? If you really want something just save for it and purchase yourself with cash. Now you know you don’t owe anyone at the end of the month.
