Is Praying For Them, Helping Them? Why You Can’t Save Everybody

“Therefore do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to Me; for I will not hear you.” ~ Jeremiah 7:16

“Pray for them” is often a saying really used to avoid addressing the bigger issue. It’s the “play nice” saying, but have you wonder why some who are being “prayed for” are getting worse? Why are some people simply not spiritually growing or changing for good, but going further down the rabbit hole? Did you know God does not listen to every prayer? God deals with each of us individually and you may be praying for someone to see the light, but you must realize they are also being dealt with by God for a reason. There are some people who choose to be on the wrong road, continuously make bad decisions, stay in sin, stay in idolatry, in hatred, in wickedness, etc. Although we don’t give up hope a change may occur but after a while even God let the person be, “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,” Hebrews 10:26. God has given each of us a choice from the beginning, Deuteronomy 28, Joshua 24:14-15. At the end of the day it is a person’s choice to choose God and his ways, so don’t feel bad or hopeless if they choose a different path, that may simply be their destiny to do so. Just don’t continue beating a dead horse, let them be.

Understand the scripture, in everything we must learn to balance life and live in reality. Too many believers live in la-la land under the guise of “religion” it is what it is, you simply can’t save everybody, and that’s the hard truth many are afraid to acknowledge and say. There is a hell and heaven for a reason, although we always hope that many will choose the right path, choose God, go to heaven, but many more will choose not to. So next time you are praying for someone who simply is not changing for the better ask yourself if praying for them helping them? Is God even hearing your prayer about that person?

“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:12
