Why God Doesn’t Make It All Go Away

You may be looking at what is going on around the world, and think to yourself “Why doesn’t God make it all go away,” after all he has the power to do so. I can’t really tell you why God does what he does because he says he thinks higher than we do. What doesn’t make sense to us may make perfect sense to God. I can appreciate God’s actions or inaction because of my relationship with him, I know he doesn’t do things “just because” there is a purpose behind it and I’m fine without knowing the exact purpose but many can’t understand why God doesn’t “step in or step up.” The first thing to understand is why God doesn’t step in, make the bad things and people go away is because there is a purpose for it all. Let’s look at Ecclesiastes, Chapter 3, “ There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. What do workers gain from their toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that people will fear him. Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account. And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment—wickedness was there, in the place of justice—wickedness was there. I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.” I also said to myself, “As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. Who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?” So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?

Basically, there is a time for everything, in life, there is no guarantee that the good times will always be neither will the bad times, everything will happen in its time. So instead of dwelling on what’s going on and what God is “not” doing, why not understand his perspective on life, that things are going to happen. He created the world, he knows its beginning and its ending, he’s in complete control of the situation, and he was kind enough to give you the heads up in the bible, so your best option is to trust him, have faith in what he’s doing and draw closer to him so he can guide you more.

Scripture Meditations

“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:” Isaiah 46:9-10

“ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” John 1:1-5

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28

“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth,” Colossians 3:2

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says Elohim God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8
