Sometimes it seems like God takes all the time in the world to bring about a promise, but sometimes we are not patient enough to receive it and end up with a substitution, that you end up having to “live “with. James 1:17 tells us “every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…” so if God made a promise to you why wouldn’t you wait for the good gift and the perfect gift? Why accept the first person, opportunity, situation that speaks to your impatience? Believers if you asked or prayed to God about something and it’s taking a while you need to be more patient. If you read Exodus 7, when Moses went to Pharaoh to let the people go, God empowered Moses and Aaron to perform miracles, and do you know what Pharaoh did? He had his men and sorcerers to perform the same miracle. This should teach you that Satan could bring you a duplicate miracle but it’s a false blessing, so you have to rely on God to not make a wrong decision. Living for God really means to live for God, his decisions, his choices for your life. It means to be discerning, exercise wisdom, being patient. If you find yourself making a decision that you are not clear it is from God or choosing something or someone that God wouldn’t approve of, pump your brakes and commune with God in prayer for clarity, and ask yourself three simple questions, and be honest with yourself in your answers. Am I doing this because of my fleshy desire? Am I doing this because I am mad at God?

Am I doing this because I’m tired of waiting? God knows your heart desires and he is working for you and with you but if you are doing things relying on your own understanding you’ll be walking on your own path without God’s guidance, Proverbs 3:5-7. Rely on God, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will warn you, if you have to “force” the situation, “convince” yourself “rush” the decision, “trying” to make the word of God “fit” the situation when you know it doesn’t, or you are ignoring the red flags, most likely it’s not from God. May the wisdom of God guide you.
