I remember years back I wanted to pursue something new, and I was sharing with someone, that I was afraid to make the change and her response to me was “Be Brave,” it’s been years since she told me this but it still resonates with me. Many times, we know what we want, we know what the Most High has instructed us to do, but we still waver in doubt and struggle with fear and sometimes the things we want the most, we will not pursue it in fear of rejection. I would pursue what was “comfortable” or “common” or something that would not pose too much of a challenge for me. The Most High would keep pushing me towards what I needed to focus on, but I wanted to stay in my comfort zone until God outright put the fire in me to get out of my comfort zone and do what he is instructing me to do. I was reminded of Joshua, who had to step up and lead the Children of Israel to the land of milk and honey. My favorite part in the book of Joshua is what the Most High said to him in Joshua 1:7-9 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Yahweh your Elohim will be with you wherever you go.” This is by far one my favorite scripture; because God had to remind me several times that he was with me. I knew God was with me, he told me this, but I was still not accepting it because I was still “afraid.” 

You see, God knew Joshua would be afraid of such a huge task and he had to let Joshua know he is with him, don’t be afraid, don’t fear but be courageous, be brave. God knows what you are afraid of and he is telling you he is with you. Is there something you been avoiding because you’ve been afraid to approach the task face on? Is there something God had instructed you to do but you are still struggling with the decision whether to go for it? Understand that God is with you. There is truly nothing to be afraid of, when you have the Creator on your side. I’ve learned to go for it and guess what? God is with me and everything works out just fine. If you have been struggling, afraid, in fear, I want to encourage you that your comfort zone today won’t be your comfort zone for tomorrow, and what God has for you, is for you and when you belong to him, he won’t allow you to sit in your comfort zone for too long, and he may have to start putting some pressure on you, some frustration to get you to move the direction he needs you to move, so my advice to you, “Be Brave, do what God has instructed you to do, take the leap, move in faith and go for it! Yes, it will be scary, yes, you will have mountains to climb, yes, you will wonder whether you made the right decision at times, but then you will see your God, and you will know him because he is with you. Instead of seeing what’s in front of you as a challenge, thank God, he won’t allow you to stay in your comfort zone. A place that you are not growing or flowing. Day by day and step by step he will lead you to your heart desires. Be Brave.
