Are you on the Narrow Road or the Wide & Broad Road?

Many are on different roads in life, sometimes you may be on the same road with someone, and something makes them take a different road leaving you alone. This walk with God will feel lonely sometimes, and you may feel you are on the road all alone. However, be encourage because God never leaves his own astray, behind or alone, It is Yahweh who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8. Living a life for God won’t be a walk in the park but it will be very fulfilling. The reason many don’t last with God is because they want and/or enjoy a easy life, convenience, a life with continuous fun, no problems, no rules, no commitment hence the wide and broad road availability. We are given two roads to walk in this life- a narrow one or a broad & wide one, which one will you choose?

Matthew 7:13-14 say, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

I always tell people if you want to know what to do, don’t follow the crowd. The wide and broad road is always crowded, popular and may even look fun but woe to those who are followers of humankind and not of the Most High. Scripture tells us many will enter through it, are you hanging with the wrong crowd? Are you one of the “many”, do as they do and not do as God wants? Understand this, the wide and broad road may look or even be fun now, it may look like all the good opportunities and blessings are there, it may be pleasing to your eyes and your desires but destruction shall be your lot if you continued therein. Stop looking for the “easy” road, or the “fun” road, make a decision to walk on the narrow road because it will lead you to life and to God. The narrow road will require you to make a commitment, to be ridicule, to look like a crazy person, to be obedient, to deny your flesh, to serve God only, to get rid of your idols, to prepare when everyone is partying, to grow spiritual, to choose righteousness, to go through trials and tribulations but glory be to the Most High you will come out winning! You’ll have life! Moreover, it definitely won’t be crowded because few will find it! So while it may feel lonely now, you are not alone. While it may look like the wicked and the sinners are winning, it will be for a little while, but the righteous shall inherit the land, Psalm 37:29. Stick with God! Keep pursing righteousness, keep seeking and draw closer to God, stay committed no matter what you see or hear, keep trusting God and listening to the Holy Spirit and pray for wisdom for all things.

Scripture Meditation

Psalm 1 “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of Yahweh, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For Yahweh watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.”

Luke 21:35-36 “But watch yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a trap. For it will come upon all who dwell on the face of the whole earth. But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

James 4:4-8 “You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”? But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from youDraw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

Matthew 7:21-23  “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Yahweh, Yahweh,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Yahweh, Yahweh, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Matthew 10:6-23 “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues, and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles. When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death, and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.”

1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 “Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of Yahweh will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For Yahweh has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Messiah, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
